Edumin 25mg tablet contains an active component of diazoxide. It belongs to the class of medications known as thiazides. This medicine is used when your blood sugar level is very low for a long period. This condition is known as intractable hypoglycemia, which causes low sugar levels in your blood due to an increased amount of the hormone insulin by the pancreas. It is critical to take this medication because very low blood sugar levels can cause unexpected changes in your body, including coma. Do not take this capsule for treating temporary low blood sugar caused by diet or if you are allergic to diazoxide or other thiazide drugs, such as bendrofluazide. Tell your doctor if you have compromised heart function because this medication causes significant water retention in your body, possibly leading to heart failure. Inform your doctor if you are lactose or milk sugar intolerant because this capsule contains lactose as one component. Before taking this capsule, check with your doctor if you have heart, liver, or kidney problems. Inform your doctor if you have a history of Gout (pain and swelling of joints due to increased uric acid level in your blood).
