Darb-ESA 40mcg injection is an antineoplastic medication that belongs to a class of drugs known as hematopoietic growth factors.  It contains the active compound Darbepoetin Alfa .  It is used to treat anemia  in people with chronic kidney disease. and anemia caused by chemotherapy in people with certain types of cancer. It is not recommended to take Darbepoetin alfa if you are allergic to active compounds or any other ingredients of this medicine.  It is recommended to monitor complete blood count before starting the therapy. It is not recommended for use in patients who have uncontrolled blood pressure. It is not recommended for use in patients who receive cancer treatment with hormonal drugs and radiotherapy. It is not advised to be used in place of red blood cell transfusions in individuals in need of immediate anemia correction. Inform your physician if you have high blood pressure, anemia, a history of seizures, epilepsy, liver disease, or allergy to latex or hepatitis C. Inform your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Before initiating the treatment, inform your physician if you have fever, blood clots, any infections, kidney, heart or liver problems. Your doctor will monitor your haemoglobin levels to ensure they stay within a specified range. High haemoglobin concentrations can increase your chance of developing heart or blood vessel problems. It is necessary to inform your physician about all the medicines, over the counter drugs, vitamin and herbal supplements you are taking before the start of therapy.
