O câncer é uma doença na qual as células se multiplicam de maneira anormal e descontrolada. Também é usado para prevenir novos casos de câncer no cólon após a remoção completa do tumor por cirurgia. Os efeitos colaterais comuns que provavelmente ocorrem com este medicamento são perda de apetite, dor de cabeça, coriza, febre, queda de cabelo e boca seca. Durante o tratamento, seu médico pode monitorar periodicamente seu hemograma completo, o tempo de protrombina e o INR, para prevenir complicações graves.
