A composição Alphadol 0.25 é um medicamento suplementar vitamínico que contém o princípio ativo Alfacalcidol. Este alphadol 0.25 é utilizado para tratar diversas condições em que os níveis de cálcio no organismo necessitam de ajuste. Trata principalmente a condição denominada osteodistrofia (alterações na estrutura óssea causadas por insuficiência renal), controla o hiperparatiroidismo (excesso de cálcio no sangue devido à hiperatividade das glândulas paratiroides) ou o hipoparatiroidismo (cálcio insuficiente no sangue devido à hipoatividade das glândulas paratiroides), trata também a hipocalcemia (níveis baixos de cálcio no sangue) em recém-nascidos, e o raquitismo ou a osteomalácia (deformação dos ossos devido à falta de cálcio). Este medicamento está contraindicado em indivíduos com hipersensibilidade ou alergia conhecida a ele ou a qualquer um dos seus componentes. Indivíduos com problemas renais, incluindo cálculos renais, podem necessitar de monitorização especial e de ajustes da dose de alphadol 0.25 ao tomar este medicamento. O seu médico precisa de avaliar a sua função renal e determinar a dose adequada para si. Se tiver uma condição conhecida como hipercalcemia, o que significa que tem níveis elevados de cálcio no sangue, o Alphadol 0.25mcg Cápsula não deve ser tomado. Tomar este medicamento poderá aumentar ainda mais os seus níveis de cálcio e agravar a condição. O seu médico poderá prescrever medicamentos adicionais juntamente com o Alphadol 0.25mcg Cápsula, como um agente ligante de fosfato para regular os níveis de fosfato ou um suplemento de cálcio para manter níveis adequados de cálcio no sangue.
