This medicine is used when your blood sugar level is very low for a long period. This condition is known as intractable hypoglycemia, which causes low sugar levels in your blood due to an increased amount of the hormone insulin by the pancreas. It is critical to take this medication because very low blood sugar levels can cause unexpected changes in your body, including coma. Do not take this medicine for treating temporary low blood sugar caused by diet or if you are allergic to diazoxide or other thiazide drugs, such as bendrofluazide. Tell your doctor if you have heart disorders because this medicine can cause significant water retention in your body, possibly leading to heart failure. Inform your doctor if you are intolerant to lactose or milk sugar because this tablet contains lactose as one of the components.
