Dabigat 150mg capsule contains an active component such as Dabigatran etexilate. It is a medication used to prevent blood clots in individuals at risk of stroke due to atrial fibrillation, a type of irregular heartbeat, or for the treatment and prevention of blood clots like deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). It is an anticoagulant, which means it helps prevent the formation of blood clots by inhibiting the activity of thrombin, an enzyme responsible for blood clotting. Dabigat 150mg capsule is the prodrug form, which converts it into dabigatran in the body. Unlike warfarin, which requires frequent monitoring and dose adjustments based on INR (International Normalized Ratio) measurements, the Dabigat 150mg capsule has a fixed dosage regimen. This means that patients do not need regular blood tests to monitor its effectiveness, making it more convenient for patients and healthcare providers. It has a relatively quick onset of action, providing a more immediate anticoagulant effect than other anticoagulants. Individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to the Dabigat 150mg capsule or any of its components should not use the medication. This medication is an anticoagulant that can increase the risk of bleeding. It is contraindicated in patients with active pathological bleeding, such as gastrointestinal bleeding, intracranial bleeding, or bleeding disorders. It is primarily eliminated through the kidneys. It is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment unless under specific circumstances where the benefits outweigh the risks and a dose adjustment is made.  It capsules contain lactose, and individuals with lactose intolerance should exercise caution while taking the medication.
