Ampsnitro Tablet contains the active ingredient nitrofurantoin. It is an antibiotic used to prevent and treat infections of the bladder, kidney, and other parts of the urinary tract. It works by killing the bacterial organism that causes infection. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to nitrofurantoin, other medicines containing nitrofurantoin, or other ingredients. Inform your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have kidney disease, blood disorders, or G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase) deficiency. Inform your physician if you have diabetes, lung disease, liver problems, nervous disorder, or any other illness that causes severe weakness or tiredness, anaemia, lack of vitamin B, or any other abnormal blood values. Ampsnitro Tablet is not recommended for children below 3 months of age. Report to your doctor if your urine is dark yellow or brown in colour, fatigue, yellowing of the skin or eyes, itching, skin rashes, joint pain, abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, or pale or grey coloured stools after taking this medicine because these may indicate liver problems.
