Mexate 10mg comprimido contiene la sustancia activa Methotrexate. Es un antimetabolito y un fármaco inmunosupresor. Trata ciertos tipos de cáncer, como leucemia linfoblástica aguda (LLA), leucemia meníngea, linfoma no Hodgkin, sarcoma de tejidos blandos y óseos, linfoma cutáneo de células T, cáncer de mama y cáncer de cabeza y cuello en adultos. También se utiliza para tratar la psoriasis grave en adultos (enfermedad de la piel en la que aparecen manchas rojas y escamosas en algunas zonas del cuerpo). También está indicado para tratar la artritis reumatoide (enfermedad de las articulaciones) en adultos. No use Mexate 10mg comprimido si es alérgico al methotrexate o a cualquiera de los demás ingredientes de este medicamento. No tome este medicamento si tiene problemas renales o hepáticos, trastornos sanguíneos, un sistema inmunitario debilitado, si está embarazada o si está en periodo de lactancia. Informe a su médico de inmediato si presenta síntomas de expectoración o tos con sangre, debilidad muscular general, alteraciones de la visión, cambios en el pensamiento o la memoria y problemas de orientación. Este medicamento puede afectar la fertilidad. Evite quedarse embarazada durante el tratamiento y durante seis meses después de la última dosis. Informe a su médico si tiene úlcera de estómago, infección activa o problemas renales leves, y sobre cualquier vacunación reciente antes de iniciar el tratamiento. Mexate 10mg comprimido puede causar efectos secundarios graves incluso con dosis bajas; por ello, serán necesarios controles periódicos y análisis de laboratorio rutinarios como precaución. No use este medicamento si está embarazada, en periodo de lactancia o planea quedarse embarazada.
