Seroflo Junior Inhaler contains the active substances Fluticasone and Salmeterol. This combination of medications treats asthma in children and adolescents. Fluticasone works by reducing inflammation in the airways, while Salmeterol relaxes the muscles around the airways, making it easier to breathe. Doctors prescribe Seroflo Junior Inhaler for children whose asthma symptoms are not controlled by other medications. It helps prevent asthma attacks and manage ongoing symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath. You should not use Seroflo Junior Inhaler to treat acute asthma attacks. For emergencies, you should use a fast-acting bronchodilator. Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if the child has any heart problems, lung issues (such as tuberculosis), diabetes, thyroid disorders, or any other health concerns. Also, make sure the child is not allergic to any of the ingredients in this medication. You must not stop using Seroflo Junior Inhaler suddenly. Discontinuing the medication without a doctor's supervision may worsen asthma symptoms. Your doctor will guide you through a gradual dose reduction if needed. Long-term use of this medication can cause side effects such as Cushing’s syndrome, adrenal suppression, and growth retardation in children. High doses of this medication increase the risk of adrenal crisis, especially during stress or surgery. Avoid using Seroflo Junior Inhaler with strong CYP3A inhibitors like Ritonavir, as this can lead to more severe side effects. The inhaler also contains lactose, which could affect individuals with severe lactose intolerance.
