Artamin 250mg Capsule contains an active D-Penicillamine component. It is a medication primarily used to treat conditions like Wilson's disease(a rare genetic disorder causing copper accumulation in the body), cystinuria (an inherited kidney condition), and rheumatoid arthritis(Chronic joint inflammation). In rheumatoid arthritis, this medication is used to reduce joint inflammation and damage caused by the disease. It is sometimes used to treat heavy metal poisoning, such as lead, mercury, and arsenic.  In some cases, it has been used to prevent the formation of recurrent calcium oxalate kidney stones, although this is less common. Individuals who have a known hypersensitivity or allergy to Artamin 250mg Capsule or any other components of the medication should not take it.  Patients with a history of blood disorders, such as aplastic anemia or other significant hematologic issues, might be at increased risk of worsening these conditions with its use.  Individuals with severe kidney impairment might experience worsened kidney function with its use, and therefore, its use is usually cautioned or avoided in these cases.
