Taxim Injection contains cefotaxime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is widely used for treating various bacterial infections. This medicine works by stopping the growth of bacteria, helping your immune system clear the infection. Taxim 125 Injection is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections (UTIs), skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, and central nervous system infections like meningitis. Doctors also use Taxim injection for surgical infection prevention (surgical prophylaxis) because of its ability to reach multiple body sites, including the brain and spinal cord. Although it is generally well-tolerated, like all antibiotics, it may cause side effects in some people. Individuals with known allergies to cephalosporins or any ingredients in taxim 125mg inj should not take this medication. Caution is needed in people with a history of gastrointestinal issues like colitis or those at risk for antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Patients with severe kidney impairment may require dose adjustments. Additionally, this injection should not be mixed with calcium-containing IV solutions to avoid harmful reactions.
