Rantac MPS LA Suspension contains three active ingredients, Megaldrate, Simethicone, and Oxetacaine, which belong to the family called anti-ulcers and antacids. It treats acidity, indigestion, heartburn, and stomach upset. Magaldrate neutralizes excess stomach acid. Simethicone reduces gas bubble surface tension for easier elimination through belching or flatulence, while oxetacaine numbs and relieves stomach pain from ulcers or acidic injury. Rantac MPS LA Suspension should not be consumed if you are allergic to Megaldrate, Dimethicone, or any of the ingredients in the medication. Before taking Megaldrate + Simethicone + Oxetacaine, it is important to inform your doctor if you have a history of appendicitis, bowel blockage, rectal bleeding, kidney problems, are on a low-magnesium diet, or have recently undergone bowel surgery. It is advisable to avoid taking antacids that contain aluminum and magnesium with Dimethicone and Megaldrate because that may result in constipation and intestinal obstruction, while magnesium-containing antacids could cause diarrhea.
