Neocuron 4mg injection contains the active substance pancuronium, which belongs to a class of medicines called skeletal muscle relaxants. It is administered as an adjuvant to general anesthesia to prepare you for surgery. This medication assists in maintaining your body still by relaxing your skeletal muscles during the surgical procedure. It also facilitates the relaxation of the throat, making it easier to insert a breathing tube (endotracheal intubation) before surgery. This medication is used as a muscle relaxant in almost all age groups, including adults, adolescents (2-17 years), newborns, and infants (0 days – 23 months). It is also employed to aid in emergency airway management (mechanical ventilation) for patients in intensive care. Before receiving neocuron 4mg injection, it is crucial to discuss the following with your healthcare team: any prior allergies to pancuronium or other muscle relaxants, reduced renal function or renal disease, heart or circulatory conditions, fluid accumulation, liver or gallbladder issues, edema (swelling of ankles), diseases affecting nerves and muscles such as polio, myasthenia gravis or Eaton-Lambert syndrome. Transparent communication about your medical history is essential for a safe and effective treatment plan.

PANCURONIUM

Uses

• Skeletal muscle relaxation
• Facilitate endotracheal intubation
• Mechanical ventilation

Benefits

When your nerves want your muscles to move, they release a messenger called acetylcholine. This acetylcholine fits into special receptors on your muscle cells, triggering the muscles to contract. When neocuron 4mg is present, it blocks this messenger, preventing the muscles from receiving the signal to contract and keeping them relaxed.

Safety Advice

• Breast Feeding: It is not known whether this injection is excreted in human milk. Hence, tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before taking neocuron 4mg.
• Alcohol: Generally, it is not recommended to consume alcohol post-surgery with pancuronium since alcohol can enhance the effect of the injection and delay recovery. We suggest consulting your healthcare provider for further guidance.
• Liver: Prolonged recovery time has been reported when anesthetized along with neocuron 4mg in patients with liver problems. Inform your doctor if you have any liver disease before starting the treatment.
• Lungs: It is unknown whether neocuron 4mg injection is safe for persons suffering from lung disease. Inform your doctor if you have any lung disease before starting the treatment.
• Driving: It's important only to drive or operate machines once you are told okay. neocuron 4mg is used during anesthesia; after it, you might feel tired, weak, or dizzy. Your anesthesia doctor will tell you when it is safe to resume these activities and how long these feelings might last.
• Pregnancy: It is unknown whether neocuron 4mg injection can cause fetal harm during pregnancy. Tell your physician if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or think you may get pregnant. However, neocuron 4mg  may be given to you if you have a Caesarean section.
