DC bead 300/500 injection is an embolic agent used to treat malignant hypervascularized tumor (s) in the liver and used to embolize (block) the vessels supplying malignant colorectal cancer and metastasis to the liver (mCRC). Embolization is the procedure used to stop blood flow to a specific blood vessel for the treatment of a tumor. This system can be loaded with anticancer drugs like doxorubicin and irinotecan. It is designed in such a way that the medication reaches explicitly and targets the cancer cells. It can fail when the embolization procedure is uneventful.
