It mainly treats type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients above 18 years and older. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by increased blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia). This drug is also approved for treating heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) in adults. It helps to improve symptoms and reduce the risk of hospitalization for heart failure.
