Tavin L tablet consists of the active substance called Lamivudine, Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, which belongs to the class of antiretroviral or Anti-Viral medicine. This medicine treats HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection. It is a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) and works by inhibiting the enzymes (HIV reverse transcriptase) important for virus replication. This tablet is not studied in patients over 65 years of age. Anti-Virals used for HIV infection are known as antiretrovirals. While consuming this medicine, you may still develop infections related to HIV. Although effective antiretroviral therapy reduces the risk, HIV transmission is still possible when using this medication. This tablet is not for use in children and adolescents under 18 years. Contact your doctor for more information. Do not consume Tavin L tablet if you have experienced allergic reactions to Lamivudine, Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, peanuts, or soya, (as this medicine contains lecithin) or any of its other medical ingredients. During the treatment, your doctor may periodically monitor your blood counts, bone mineral density, liver and kidney parameters to prevent serious complications. Before beginning the treatment, notify your doctor if you have bone disease (osteonecrosis - the death of bone tissue), fractures, a history of the liver (chronic hepatitis B or C), or kidney problems. Your doctor may advise dose adjustment if you are a kidney patient. Reduce your dosage if only your doctor suggests it. Tavin L tablet should not be given to adolescents with existing kidney problems. Inform your doctor if you are planning to get pregnant or think you may be pregnant. Breastfeeding is not recommended due to the potential transmission of HIV from the mother to the baby. Always use effective contraception. Discuss with your doctor for more fertility concerns.
