Trilawil 333mg capsule contains the active constituent Trientine Hydrochloride. It is a copper chelator used to treat adult patients with stable Wilson’s disease who cannot tolerate any medicine used to treat this disease. Wilson’s disease is an inherited condition in which the body cannot transport copper around the body in normal ways or remove copper normally as a secretion from the liver into the gut. This means that the small amounts of copper from food and drink build up to excessive levels and can lead to liver damage and problems in the nervous system. This medicine mainly works by attaching to copper in the body, allowing it to be removed in the urine instead, helping to lower copper levels. It may also attach to copper in the gut and reduce the amount taken into the body. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Trientine Hydrochloride or any other ingredients in this medicine. Trilawil 333mg capsule may also reduce the iron level in your blood; you may be prescribed iron supplements. Inform your physician if you have kidney or liver problems, breathing problems, dermatitis (red and itchy skin), or anemia, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
