Terbicip 250mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Terbinafine. It is an Anti-Fungal medication that belongs to the class of drugs known as Anti-Fungals. It is used to treat fungal infections of the skin and nails caused by dermatophytes, including conditions such as athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, and fungal nail infections (onychomycosis). Terbicip 250mg Tablet can be used to treat fungal infections that are difficult to manage with topical treatments. It is particularly effective for onychomycosis, a fungal infection of the nails that often requires systemic treatment. The medication can be used to treat these infections in adults who have not responded adequately to other therapies. Do not take Terbicip 250mg Tablet if you are allergic to Terbinafine or any other ingredients in this medicine. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have a history of liver problems, as Terbicip 250mg Tablet can cause liver toxicity. Additionally, patients with chronic or active liver disease should not use this medication. It is also important to report any history of skin reactions, especially those associated with allergies or severe rashes. If you experience symptoms such as yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), dark urine, unusual tiredness, or stomach pain, contact your healthcare provider immediately, as these may indicate liver issues. Additionally, if you develop a rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or throat, stop the medication and seek emergency medical help.

Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient

TERBINAFINE

Uses

• Treats dermatophyte infections (e.g., tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis)
• Effective for onychomycosis (fungal nail infections)
• Treats superficial fungal infections of the skin, nails, and hair
• Alternative treatment for dermatophyte infections in immunocompromised patients

Benefits

Terbicip 250mg Tablet Inhibits squalene epoxidase, an enzyme crucial for synthesising ergosterol, a key component of fungal cell membranes. By blocking this enzyme, terbinafine disrupts the fungal cell membrane, causing cell death. It effectively targets dermatophytes, moulds, and yeasts, offering broad-spectrum activity against a wide range of fungal infections.
