Recagon 50 IU contains the active compound follitropin beta. It belongs to the class of medications called gonadotropins (hormones that regulate the function of reproductive organs). It is indicated to treat infertility in women who are not ovulating (anovulation) and is also used in medically assisted reproduction programs such as in vitro fertilisation/embryo transfer (IVF/ET). It also helps males with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (lack of male sex hormones). It is not recommended to take this medication if you are allergic to the active substance follitropin beta and its components. Women who are pregnant or experiencing heavy or irregular vaginal bleeding are recommended not to use this medication.
